We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet

The MOSL would like to take a moment to bid a heavy hearted farewell to Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley. Although I know beyond a doubt that the church will continue to grow and flourish under President Monson, I feel that I grew, and strengthened so much as a husband, priesthood holder, and as a man under Pres Hinckley's faith, strength, and guidance.

He will be missed.

NAME THE PIG

Last Friday, while Sylvia and Maura were attending a stamping party, I was thinking of them and their shared goal of participating in the 2008 Flying Pig Marathon, I decided that what they needed was a tangible image of that goal to see as they work out together. With that in mind I created their mascot, The Flying Pig. He needs a name however. For the next 2 weeks I will be accepting names for the flying pig. The winner will recieve A NEW ONLINE CAR, and all entrants will recieve an official MOSL online compliment. Get those entries in soon.

WHEW!

My darling wife is coming to the completion of a very bittersweet weekend in light of her calling change at church. I just wanted to take a moment to let her know how very proud I am of her tonight. Her faithfulness and devotion to her callings brings great honor to both her and me. I feel like I had been given a blessing that I didn't earn when she married me, but I thank God that she bestowed the honor of being her husband upon me. Sylli, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for me, for the sacrifices that you constantly make on my behalf, for looking past all of my ineptitudes and quirks, (yes there are quite a few of those) and most of all, for having the love and patience to let me be your husband. I think 2008 is going to be fabulous for the Johnsons

Quote of the week:

"Mom, You are not given sons to do everything for you. You are given sons so that can grow up to be adults and get bodies. Daughters too. You were a daughter once, So you should know."
- Ben Merrell

Wish me luck

Yes, I am embarking on the road to better health also. Through the inspiration of my dearly beloved wife and best friend SmilenSylli, and our dear friend The Pampered Princess, I have begun the walking program with them. My immediate goals are small, four miles a week, Mon. Thu Fri. until Feb 1, when it becomes six miles a week, Mon. Thu Sat. We have our family reunion to think about, Plus with the eagerly awaited for 2008 racing season just around the corner I want to get back into "race trim." Kentucky Speedway is a 2 mile tri-oval, so as you can imagine the parking area and the grounds around the speedway are enormous making a day at the races very grueling, This is something I have needed to do for a long time because I know that I am an awesome individual , But my soul really doesn't delight in fatness

Progress reports will come
